So after phase one, the MCU had to expand, and that is where the MCU's Phase Two comes in. This phase was created to expand the universe further after the Avengers. Now that all the superheroes had come together for the first time, the MCU was moving forward as a connected universe. Different characters started appearing in different movies. Phase Two was a quite interesting era for Marvel. But the audience had a slightly mixed reaction to this phase. Because Thanos is going to arrive throughout this phase. You can feel the fear of it completely.
Along with that, some new characters were also introduced. Overall, I like this phase a bit less too, but it is definitely important. The reason for this is that all the excitement for the events happening in Phase Three is built in Phase Two. So today, I am going to talk about the MCU's Phase Two . So let's get started. So in 2013, the MCU's Phase Two begins with Iron Man 3.
>> Iron Man 3. So after The Avengers, Tony Stark's life has changed completely. After the Battle of New York, Tony has started getting anxiety attacks. His mind keeps showing him visions of wormholes and alien invasions. And amidst all this, a mysterious terrorist is attacking across the world, who is The Mandarin. But Tony is busy. He has taken making Iron Man suits as a hobby and has built a suit for every situation. And in this confidence that he can handle any situation. He gives his address to The Mandarin on live TV, along with the pin code. As a result.
The Mandarin carries out a missile attack on Tony's house, and the whole mansion is destroyed right there. That is the only reason why I am not buying a house by the sea. The husband, wife, and the other one all survive. But Tony gets separated from them and reaches Tennessee, where he meets a kid, who was Harley Keener. Now Tony plays a bit of Sherlock and investigates what exactly is going on behind these Mandarin attacks, and then Extremis comes to light. An experimental technology that enhances a human's body temperature, healing, and physical ability significantly. But the real twist comes when it is revealed that The Mandarin is actually no super-powered terrorist. He is actually Trevor Slattery, who was a drunk British actor. The one Aldrich Killian had installed by creating a fake Mandarin. And this was the first time Marvel played such a dirty joke on the audience. So Tony finally teams up with Rhodey to defeat Killian and the Extremis soldiers, and in the final battle, he has to lose many of his
suits. After defeating Killian, Tony saves Pepper, and then he makes a big decision, which was to have the Arc Reactor removed from his chest, and at the end of the movie, Tony destroys his suits as well. Although this didn't mean he would stop being Iron Man now. And in the post-credits scene, we are shown that Tony is telling his whole story to Bruce Banner. But look, Bruce isn't the kind of doctor who will listen to your pain and give you a paracetamol. He simply ignores it. And The Dark World, in Hindi.
>> After saving Earth, Thor has returned to his kingdom, Asgard, and is trying to restore order in the Nine Realms. But there is an old villain, Malekith, aka Kilvish.
>> Darkness will remain forever.
>> The leader of the Dark Elves, he has returned after thousands of years. Now, a thousand years ago, he tried to establish darkness with the help of a weapon. This weapon was the Aether. Don't ask how he got it. So back then, the Asgardian warriors defeated Malekith and hid the Aether in the ashes of Asgard. But in the present day , the Aether accidentally enters Jane Foster before Thor can reach her, and Thor brings Jane to Asgard, which is where Malekith finds out that the Aether has been found again. Malekith attacks Asgard, and in this attack, Frigga, Thor and Loki's mother, is killed. Now Thor has to stop Malekith.
But the problem is that to reach Malekith, he will need Loki's help. And Loki is still in prison since that New York incident. So Thor gets him released, and then Thor and Loki set out to the Dark World to stop Malekith. Now, you can't really trust Loki, can you? But this time, Loki actually helps Thor. The final battle takes place in London, where Malekith tries to bring darkness once again. I mean, he’s white himself, so how is he going to bring darkness? What kind of sense does that make? Thor finally defeats Malekith, and the Aether is taken back to Asgard. Here, it is revealed that Asgard already has the Tesseract, which is the Space Stone. And that is why it is not safe to keep the Aether in Asgard. It has two post-credit scenes.
In the first one, we are shown that the Aether is taken to the mysterious collector, who was "The Collector" who hadn't cleared his IAS exams, and the second post-credit scene was where Thor returns to reunite with Jane.
>> Captain America: The Super Hero. Now Steve Rogers is adjusting to the modern world, but he is having some trouble. Although he has worked with the Avengers. But still, this world is quite complicated for him. Now he only does missions for S.H.I.E.L.D. But during one mission, Steve realizes that something is wrong with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s system. Nick Fury also gets alert with his one eye. And although this film was about Captain America, you get to see many characters in it. Like Nick Fury, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, and her silky hair. Now, when Nick Fury suspects a secret project, he goes to investigate it, but he is attacked, and the attacker is no normal assassin. He was a masked super soldier known as the Winter Soldier. So, Steve and Natasha Romanoff start a close investigation and they find out that Hydra has been operating secretly inside S.H.I.E.L.D., and their plan, Project Insight, involved launching three helicarriers to eliminate people who could become a threat to them in the future. But the
biggest shock for Steve was still to come. When the Winter Soldier's mask comes off, it turns out to be none other than Bucky Barnes. His best friend who had been killed in World War II. So, what actually happened was that Hydra captured Bucky, brainwashed him, and used him as a weapon for years. But Steve is a good friend. He does not want to kill Bucky. He wants to save him. And one reason for this is that he is the only one left from his era. In the final battle, Steve and Natasha expose the S.H.I.E.L.D. system. They destroy Project Insight and S.H.I.E.L.D. falls apart. Steve tries to remind Bucky of who he is, and perhaps it works somehow because, in the end, Bucky saves Steve and then leaves him in the middle of the woods.
Now Steve does not work under any one organization. Right now, his main goal is to find Bucky. And then in the post-credits scene, we are shown that Hydra has Loki’s scepter, and in this Hydra facility, we see "mommy" for the first time.
>> I’ve never really been called someone’s mom.
>> Guardians of the Galaxy.
>> Bosses of the galaxy and the universe. A new group enters the MCU. So the story starts with Peter Quill, who is a helpless child because his mother is fighting cancer. Peter can't bear this pain, so he walks out of the hospital, where he is kidnapped by space kidnappers. Now look, kidnappers usually have two principles. Either they demand a ransom after kidnapping, or they sell the child. But these kidnappers here were a bit weird. They keep Peter with them. They teach him their ways and basically make him a thief like themselves. But Peter hates them because these people separated him from his mother. Anyway, Peter had already become a thief, so he kept stealing, and one day he gets a contract to steal a mysterious orb. But Peter doesn't know that the whole universe is after it, and in that universe was Ronan—Ronan the Accuser —a Kree extremist who wants to destroy Xandar because of some past conflict, maybe they took his daughter or something. And Peter gets arrested because of this orb and is sent to a
space prison. Along with him, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot are also sent there. They are all linked to the same thing. Obviously, these five people don't want to become a team. But that is the foundation of a real team. Now, Rocket had a lot of experience with breaking out of prison. So they all come up with a plan together and escape from prison. And when they go to sell the orb, they find out that it contains an Infinity Stone. The Power Stone. But Ronan gets his hands on it and attaches it to his weapon, which makes his weapon quite powerful. Now, Thanos is also involved in this film because, look, Thanos was already collecting the Infinity Stones, which is why he sends his adopted daughters Gamora and Nebula. The final battle takes place right on Xandar.
Where the Guardians and the Nova Corps team up to try and stop Ronan’s army, and they succeed. Against his will, Ronan has to watch Peter’s awful dance, and because of that, he even surrenders. He says, "I’d rather just give up than watch this." And Peter catches the Power Stone before it hits the ground. That’s when we learn that the power of friendship is incredibly strong. But that wasn't really the case . It wasn't any power of friendship like that. Actually, we later find out that Peter is only half human. The other half is something alien. Because his dad's fantasy wasn't just interracial, but interspecies. You’ll find out the rest of this story in Phase Three. Then in the post-credits scene, we see a character who is ruined , and a creature is shown who is Howard the Duck. Now, this character had nothing to do with this movie or this entire cinematic universe. So, we return from space back to Earth, where Avengers: Age of Ultron was about to happen. Now the Avengers attack a Hydra
facility. Their target was Loki’s scepter because it had the Mind Stone embedded in it. After retrieving it, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner analyze the Mind Stone. Tony thinks he can use the Mind Stone’s technology to create a global peacekeeping system, and this experiment gives birth to Ultron. Ultron was a real AI because he actually took away a lot of people's jobs. The purpose of creating Ultron was so that he could protect humanity.
But Ultron, using his AI logic, decides that if humanity is in danger, then wipe out humanity. No humanity, no danger. Then, in this movie, we are also introduced to Wanda and Pietro. They have some trauma involving Tony Stark, so they join hands with Ultron because the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Wanda uses her powers to manipulate the minds of the Avengers. She shows Tony Stark that he could lose . She shows Steve that same old era from the 40s. She shows Thor the Infinity Stones. And who knows what she shows Bruce, but it makes the Hulk inside him come out. Now look, only an AI can fight an AI. Right? So that is why Vision is created and Vision plays a very important role in defeating Ultron. After much hide-and-seek, the Avengers reach Sokovia to stop Ultron.
There, Ultron has a plan where he will lift the city of Sokovia into the air and then drop it. Now Sokovia gets destroyed, and along with it, Pietro is also sacrificed while saving Clint. But most of the civilians survive, and by the end of the movie, the original Avengers team somehow disperses. Like Tony and Clint, they step down a little bit. Thor leaves for Asgard. Bruce disappears, and Steve and Natasha start training the new Avengers team. Now, many people don't like this film that much. But I find this film quite good.
It just feels like there should have been an Avengers film before this one, where these six characters—just these six—were explored a bit more. And at the end of this film, we are finally shown Thanos. Although, at this time, someone else was playing his character. But still, it looked like Thanos was on a diet. After this comes the last film of Phase Two, which was Ant-Man, where we meet Scott, who is a talented thief and has recently just gotten out of jail. Now look, becoming a superhero is not his priority. He just wants to live with his daughter Cassie because his ex-wife found a new boyfriend. Would you like to say something?
>> It wasn't mine. But Scott's life changes when he meets a scientist, who was Hank Pym. No, Hank. He is a very dangerous man because he has technology that can shrink things. And this technology is installed in a special suit, which is the Ant-Man suit. Now, Hank gives Scott this suit and also gives him training. But why is he making him train? Look, the reason is simple. Hank's former partner has also recreated the same technology, and if it falls into the wrong hands, it will shrink anything. So Scott has to do what he does best, which is stealing.
So the plan is very simple: just steal back Hank's old technology. So Scott, Hank’s daughter Hope, and Hank all execute this plan together. Scott does all the heavy lifting. The two of them just sit back and give instructions. Now, the final fight takes place between Scott and Yellowjacket, and this battle doesn't happen in a city. It happens in Cassie's bedroom. Scott finally defeats Yellowjacket, but due to the limits of his shrinking technology, he enters the Quantum Realm . Everyone thinks Scott can't return, but Scott makes the impossible possible and comes back, and Hank realizes that survival in the Quantum Realm might be possible since his wife is also trapped there. Now, at the end of the movie, we see Scott reunite with Cassie, and along with Hank's technology, Scott also gets the girl. Hank finally shows Hope an upgraded suit. Basically, The Wasp, and the post-credits scene shown in this film is also quite important, because here we see Bucky Barnes in front of Captain America and Falcon,
and he's alive! And with that, this phase just ends right here. So, that was the story of Phase Two in my words. And if you want a recap of Phase Three as well, then get this video to 3,000 likes, okay? So that’s it for this video. Alright, I’m off to get some groceries, because I forgot while I was editing.
>> Will there be any faith, will there be any hope? Will there be any faith?
>> Now I will meet you in another video, until then, bye.
